Visitor Jahmal McClendon discussed the intersections of Christian culture and the LGBTQ community with Yubi Orengo, senior fashion merchandising major, and other attendants. McClendon came to the event to gain a better, and more personal, understanding of LGBTQ people. The Kent State #LGBTQ Student Center hosted a #National Coming Out Day event on Oct. 11, 2015. Students, staff and faculty gathered together to share their stories in a safe and encouraging environment.
