Larry Johnson now a Cincinnati Bengal

Kansas City Chief's running back Larry Johnson is now a Cincinnati Bengal because of his actions and gay slurs towards others

The Kansas City Chief’s running back Larry Johnson was officially released from the NFL team last Monday but now has a new jersey fit from Ohio, the Cincinnati Bengals. He was signed to the Bengals Tuesday. According to the league’s official site, Johnson will only be a backup running back for the team.

Johnson has recently been in the news again, but this time it was for homophobic slurs directed toward a reporter and posted on his Twitter account. He had been suspended from Chief’s practices and games because of his actions. Johnson was immediately released from his contract last week when he was expected to return to the team.

However, Equality Cincinnati, a gay-advocacy group, is voicing its opposition to the city’s newest addition.

“We do not think that would be a favorable decision on the part of the Bengals,” Lesley Jones, the group’s executive director, told TMZ. “We would see this as a slap in the face to all the work we’ve done for equality and LBGT rights in Cincinnati.”
