LONDON — Fashion designer Alexander McQueen’s body was found dead today, according to the UK’s Daily Mail.
McQueen, 40, who’s work is featured in Lady Gaga’s “Bad Romance” music video and who was to debut his latest collection at Paris Fashion Week in March, committed suicide, the Daily Mail reports. This comes days after his mother’s death, as the Daily Mail found while sifting through McQueen’s last Twitter updates.
Openly gay, McQueen married his partner, George Forsyth, in 2000, although the relationship did not last.
“His death is the hugest loss to anyone who knew him,” Alexandra Shulman, editor of British Vogue, said to the BBC, “and for very many who didn’t.”
