A new report suggests elder gays and lesbians are more likely to struggle as a result of their sexual orientation as they age, 365gay.com reports.

The Movement Advancement Agency released the study which suggests those who grow old in the community are “more likely to live in poverty, face social and community isolation, and lack appropriate health care and long-term care,” the article states.

Researches hope the findings can increase awareness for senior LGBTQ persons.
