Washington D.C. couples plan to set the Guinness World Record for the largest gay wedding this Saturday, PR Newswire reported.

As many as  400 couples are expected to wed in a massive ceremony co-produced by Mike Wilkinson, director of Wedding Services for Event Emissary.

“Now we can finally stand together to affirm our love,” Wilkinson said, “and have it recognized legally by the District of Columbia.”

The non-denominational service will include several smaller ceremonies following the larger event, as well as a gala reception, according to the initial report. Newly weds will then apply for marriage licenses once the District of Columbia’s marriage equality law goes into effect early next week.
