Rick Jacobs, the leader of the Courage Campaign, says research shows the path to victory for same-sex marriage in California is one with little hope for success, according to an article from SFGate.com.
The campaign spent more than $200 thousand on the research, which has come to the conclusion that “the biggest hang-up people have is that the right wing has done a very good job of telling people that somehow children will be affected,” said Jacobs.
“We also must come together as a community to create a broad coalition and governance structure, put in place a strong manager and secure the resources to win,” said Jacobs. “Right now, the pieces are not all in place to do so confidently.”
Currently the movement towards same-sex marriage in California does not have political structure and major funders are backing off.
