As gay couples begin to marry in the state of freedom and unity, everyone’s favorite ice cream producer is giving them a nod of support.

Ben and Jerry's has dubbed its novelty Chubby Hubby to Hubby Hubby during September in support of same-sex marriages in Vermont.

Ben and Jerry’s teamed up with Freedom to Marry and renamed its signature flavor, Chubby Hubby, to Hubby Hubby. No stranger to social activism, Ben and Jerry’s has always been committed to supporting equality.

“At the core of Ben & Jerry’s values, we believe that social justice can and should be something that every human being is entitled to,” says Walt Freese, of Ben & Jerry’s Chief Executive Officer. “From the very beginning of our 30 year history, we have supported equal rights for all people. The legalization of marriage for gay and lesbian couples in Vermont is certainly a step in the right direction and something worth celebrating with peace, love and plenty of ice cream.”

But Hubby Hubby will only be around for a limited time, so make it a point to visit the Ben and Jerry’s scoop shop in University Heights by the end of the month and indulge while you support the push for equal rights across the country. Also, visit freedomtomarry.org and sign the group’s petition.
