Faith in America is an organization that is trying to reshape ideas about the LGBT community in Christianity.

Brett Childers, a self-proclaimed “Jesse Helms Republican,” used to be well-known for using biblical interpretation to back homophobic beliefs. Now he is working to bring an “inclusive message of LGBT human equality into the Christian dialogue,” according to 365gay Newswire.

Brett Childers is the executive director of Faith in America where their mission is to try and “educate the public about the emotional and physical harm caused by ‘religion-based bigotry’.” Faith in America is an important representation of a growing change that is sweeping evangelicals in the United States.
