Two filmmakers are producing a film reenactment of the federal court trial questioning the constitutionality of California’s ban on gay marriage.
John Ireland and John Ainsworth–the two filmmakers behind the recreation–are hosting the series of videos on Marriagetrial.com.
With the help of courtroom bloggers, official transcripts and professional actors, the website hopes to bring the trial to life.
Weeks ago, the Supreme Court ruled 5-4 in favor of Proposition 8 proponents to block any attempt to video graph the trial proceedings. The Prop 8 supporters, who support the gay marriage ban in California said if the trial was released on video, witnesses may be at risk to harassment.
