Friends Don’t Let Friends Wear Ugly Shoes

I consider myself to be a very open minded person, especially where the world of fashion is concerned. I’ve always seen it as an art rather than a science or a hobby. So naturally, anything is game. I am a devout Little Monster, a fashionista, a lover of mismatched shoes, vintage accessories, and loud patterns. But along with my acceptance and broad view of fashion, comes a list of pet peeves, and after that list of pet peeves comes a very short list of fashion disasters that make me shake my head and attempt to suppress my gag reflex.

Ladies and Gentlemen, at the very top of that list, is Crocs. (F.Y.I. that last sentence should have been followed by a brief stint of horror music playing in your head.. or on YouTube). They are made of rubber, look like your feet have taken a hiatus in a strange looking house, and bare a very odd resemblance to the shoes my mother wears while tending to her plants. I do not know why people still wear them, and I do not know how they have survived as a company when there are so many better options out there. Yes, I understand that they are comfortable, which is the number one response by Crocs wearers whenever you ask them what caused them to think wearing them in public was a good idea.

But really kids, hear me out on this one. If you are looking for a shoe that is cute AND comfortable, then I highly recommend Earth Spirit shoes. They’re cute, comfortable, they hold up well, and are perfect for your feet if you’re going to be trekking around campus all day.

Look them up on http://www.earthspiritshoes.com and they can also be found at Walmart! Yaaaay affordability! Everyone likes an affordable shoe, right? Right.

However, If you really do like the shoe (sigh), then I have compiled a list of important questions to ask yourself before investing your hard earned money on them.

  1. Do you spend a lot of time in the garden?
  2. Did your feet ever do something to deserve this punishment?
  3. Do you think these shoes are cute and fashion forward?

If you answered yes to the first two questions then congratulations Crocs just might be for you! If you answered yes to number three then you might want to schedule an emergency appointment with your optometrist. Really, I’m just looking out for you here. Friends don’t let friends wear ugly shoes, at least not when there are better options.
