GCEF Hosts Fusion, Community Fundraiser

Play about gay mathematician who broke the German's Enigma machine to feature fundraising night October 21.

The Gay Community Endowment Fund contributed $3,500 to the Weathervane Playhouse in Akron, Ohio, to produce Breaking the Code. The play centers around gay mathematician Alan Turing, who broke the German’s Enigma machine during World War II. He’s also the father of computer thinking with his Turing Machine among the most famous of computer science concepts.

The play runs from October 7 – October 24, but the October 21 performance is a special one. Earnings from this Thursday showing will support the Community AIDS Network, PFLAG, Violet’s Cupboard and Fusion magazine. Tickets are $21. Call 330-836-2626 to order.
