GLAAD is seeking equal time to counter a recent CNN segment on the gay cure law in California, according to Towleroad.com.

CNN aired the segment, which Kyra Phillips anchored, featuring a self-proclaimed “ex-gay” Richard Cohen.

Cohen, who was discredited by the American Counseling Association, presented his views on curing homosexuality and was labeled as an “expert in the field of sexual reorientation,” according to the article.

GLAAD reprimanded CNN for allowing Cohen to air his damaging rhetoric without counter commentary and requested an appearance on the next morning’s show. CNN agreed, but later canceled the counter segment, the report continued.
