Back in December, singer Jason Mraz decided to propose to his girlfriend, Tristan Prettyman. However, the newly engaged couple has delayed wedding plans until every couple is offered the same opportunity. According to usmagazine.com, on Wednesday in Beverly Hills, Mraz explained this at Elton John’s Concert to Benefit the American Foundation for Equal Rights. “The wedding would be nice for our family, our friends, our community — our moms especially — and so it puts us in the fight. We can’t get married until [gay] marriage is legal and equal…I think giving people the right to marry will be a huge movement in civil rights.” He explained at the concert.
To Mr. Mraz, showing your support that way is pretty bold. Hopefully if nothing happens soon with gay marriage, your fiancee and you will be able to stick to what you said. The gesture he is making to show his support for gay rights is something that I have not heard of. I believe that it shows that he is very supportive. I wonder what would happen if more people were as supportive of Mr. Mraz and his bride-to-be. Good for you Jason!
