High school life varies differently for every student. Some students have a miserable time and others have it so bad that they turn to suicide or drug abuse. Telling someone life gets better isn’t enough to stop the bullying, depression, loneliness and pain students feel in high school and sometimes even in college. It can, however, prove that there are people out there, some maybe in your own school, who don’t shun or pick on someone because they’re different. They may either feel the pain or find it unjust to see a LGBTQ student suffering.
Many people all over youtube have posted videos sharing either their journey to a better life, or their message of why LGBTQ individuals deserve the same respect as straight individuals. In connection with Fusion’s Winter 2011 issue that was released today, Kent State students have joined Fusion staff members to draft Kent State’s own message. Please watch and enjoy the two videos below.
