LONDON — A gay man died Tuesday night as doctors turned the 62-year-old’s life support off. Two weeks ago Ian Baynham and a friend were walking through Trafalgar Square where they met verbal harassment from two teenage girls.

Baynham approached the two, trying to calm them down, but soon after an 18-year-old man joined the two girls and punched and kicked Baynham on the ground. He suffered severe brain damage and died two weeks later.  Baynham’s friend suffered light injuries as well.

Police have now arrested the male and one of the two females involved in the attack.
