Mexico City’s mayor says he will make sure that gay marriage takes effect in March regardless that federal prosecutors threaten to overturn the city law.
Mayor Marcelo Ebrard say’s the federal government’s appeal won’t work because there cites nothing against gay marriage or adoption in Mexico’s constitution.
Leticia Bonifaz said Thursday the first gay marriages will be performed in May while Mexico’s Supreme Court hears the case.
