The Washington Blade closed its doors last week after being declared bankrupt, but this didn’t stop the former staff. Members created a new LGBT newspaper, DC Agenda, in less than a week after closing.
The Washington Blade was owned by Window Media and was the most recognizable gay newspaper for more than 40 years. The paper, and five other LGBT papers, shut down last week.
“Don’t judge us too harshly,” DC Agenda Editor Kevin Naff said in the first paper. “The edition of DC Agenda you’re holding is a modest early iteration of what we hope to achieve in the wake of Washington Blade’s sudden closing this week.”
