NYC Council Speaker Christine Quinn to address National Equality March

Christine Quinn is scheduled to address participants of the National Equality March in Washington D.C

Christine Quinn, an openly lesbian New York City Council Speaker and her partner will be among those who will be participating in the National Equality March, according to EDGE.

Quinn will travel to the nation’s capital with other New York activists and will address the march’s participants from the West Lawn of the Capitol.

“This is an important moment — a moment where the community has an opportunity to send a message,” said Quinn. “I wanted to be part of that and make sure my voice and my city’s voice is a significant part of the chorus on Sunday that is calling for equal recognition.”
