ABC’s “One Life to Live” soap opera is set to end the storyline of its gay couple three-months earlier than expected, according to Pink is the New Blog.

The storyline involves a gay police officer and doctor and was initiated in the summer of 2009. According to the blog, the television show was “too gay for daytime TV.”

ABC released a statement suggesting the storyline is being cut short due to homophobic outcry from viewers. Pink is the New Blog adds the show also has a second, fake-homosexual relationship that may have confused viewers.
