An Italian newspaper outed an usher and choir member under Pope Benedict XVI as a gay prostitution ring conspirator Wednesday, according to the Washington Post.
Ghinedu Ehiem was the Pope’s ceremonial usher and a member of Giulia Choir, which sings at St. Peter’s Basilica when the Pope is not present, the article stated.
Ehiem is alleged to have arranged male encounters for Angelo Balducci, an Italian engineer with ties to the Vatican, the Post continued.
La Repubblica originally published the police wiretaps accusing both men of involvement with this ring. As a result, Vatican personnel will remove Ehiem from future directories and bar him from the Pope’s service, the report stated.
