Sean Hayes, from the hit show Will & Grace, went public with his sexuality and admitted he is gay.

After years of playing the openly-gay Jack McFarland, Hayes is now contributing to the gay movement, he told The Advocate magazine, and will also make a Broadway debut.

“I believe that nobody owes anything to anybody,” Hayes told The Advocate. “You are your authentic self to whom and when you choose to be, and if you don’t know somebody, then why would you explain to them how you live your life?”

Hayes’ friends have defended his decision to not publicize his sexuality until now, saying he is just a private person and has hidden nothing.
