I used to wonder what friendship could be
(My Little Pony)
Until you all shared its magic with me

Today we’re going to talk about My Little Pony, Wait stop  don’t press the back button. I mean the title of the article says “My Little Pony” so you clicked on this knowing full well that this article was about ponies.  Originally, this post was going to be a meet the writer kind of thing, but I was thinking about what I would do for that and ponies came up. So I’m doing ponies instead.
My Little Pony:Friendship is Magic is not a cartoon that’s just for little girls anymore.  Which is pretty understandable if you look at the creator of the series, Lauren Faust.  Lauren Faust was part of the movies and t.v. shows that many of us consider part of our childhood. She has written and directed for
Lauren Faust

The Powerpuff Girls,Foster’s Home for Imaginary Friends, The Iron Giant, Quest for Camelot and  Cats Don’t Dance.

Now My Little Pony  airs on the HUB network. A t.v. channel made by Hasbro to use cartoons to promote their toy lines. Now with a set up like that( A t.v. show made simply to  promote toys) it could have been absolutly terrible without any love or care put into it, but with Lauren Faust  she created  a vibrant show about friendship, loving one filled with great characters and songs.

My Little Pony:FIM  is about the pony Twilight Sparkle traveling to Ponyville. Where she starts meeting  her five new  friends,Rarity,Fluttershy,Applejack,Rainbow Dash and Pinkie Pie. Each of them end up helping Twilight Sparkle learn about friendship  and being accepting of others. The show has been going on for 2 seasons now and has already been green-lit for a third season. The seasons usually begin with a 2 parter that is rather epic, with a big villain and plenty of action. Where the rest of the season is usually more light hearted full of songs and good morals.

Pony colors connect with Sexuality flags, not done on purpose but very cool

In the show there is no sex. This is a show for little children (originally) after all.But since adults have taken to liking the show, sexuality has slowly been creeping into it(Or at least into fan work).  Since the show has a love and accept everyone vibe to it some members of the gay community have accepted the ponies, Mostly Rainbow Dash,a pony with a rainbow mane and an attitude that could come off as a butch lesbian.(She’s even voiced by a man in the Brazilian dub)

Reader ,never look up Rule 34 My  Little Pony artwork. It’s a section of the fandom we don’t like talking about but it is the one section of the fandom that has tons of sex in it. I’ll just say this… every pony is a lesbian and it’s pretty kinky stuff (God the things I look up for these articles).

While Ponies are being used for good intentions they are also being shown in an “evil” light (Which I still don’t get since they are adorable ponies).  In the above linked article it was at least beautifully responded to by the creator ,Lauren Faust, herself .

My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic is an adorable t.v.show that is not a stereotypical litt girls show. Each character has its own personality and stories allowing girls/boys/men/women  just people in general to have a favorite. The show is about Love, accepting others and being yourself. That is one of the largest factors to the shows success.  I highly encourage that everyone give this show a chance. If you don’t like the show, then at least you gave it a chance.

If this song didn’t make you smile, I apologize

My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic is currently running on the HUB, can be bought on itunes or seen on Youtube
