One Mexican singer will apologize for her comments concerning her views against gay adoption.

Singer Paquita la del Barrio refuted Mexico’s decision to repeal its law to prohibit gay adoptions.

Creating much controversy, Paquita commented that she would rather see a child die in the streets than have that same child adopted by a same-sex couple.

She made this statement when a reporter posed one hypothetical question of which choice would be more desirable—a child to be adopted by a gay family or left alone to die.

Various gay rights organizations have called for a formal apology from Paquita. She consented, and plans to do so this Tuesday at a popular gay disco in a Mexican suburb.
