The world of politics is confronted with another situation of Facebook drama as a Montana Tea Party president was removed from the organization after posting a comment on his Facebook page condoning violence against gays.
The comment references the murder of Matthew Shepard, a gay University of Wyoming student harassed and killed in 1998 because of his sexual orientation.
Tim Ravndal, the ousted Tea Party leader, jested over facebook with another user who was unsympathetic to Shepard’s murder.
The Facebook user wrote, “I think fruits are decorative. Hang up where they can be seen and appreciated. Call Wyoming for display instructions,” to which Tim Ravndal replied “Where can I get that Wyoming printed instruction manual?”
Although Ravndal apologized, admitting it wrong and that he condemned violence against another human being, he is still without a job and apparently unaware of the severity and impact of Matthew Shepard’s murder on the country.
