In Tulsa, Okla., a young man was targeted because of his sexual orientation and beaten on his way home from a friend’s house Sunday night, according to The Tulsa World.

Brandon Patrick described his assailants as two women; one in her 40s, the other in her late teens to early 20s; and a man also in his late teens or early 20s. The group followed Patrick down the street “yelling homophobic slurs and threats.” The group then closed in on Patrick and “started beating, biting and slashing” him with a blade.
“I’ve never felt scared or feared for my safety before,” he said. “You brush it off and walk on. That’s what you’re taught to do.”
According to the police, his attackers are still at large and were last seen in a maroon Ford Mustang from the late 1990s to early 2000s.
