Going to “The Rocky Horror Picture Show” is a unique queer experience. There is no judgment, no hate, and especially no discrimination towards who you are.
On Friday, October 25, the shadow cast (the people who perform “The Rocky Horror Picture Show” while the movie plays in the background) wore pink cowboy hats, sparkles and a lot of assless chaps. This was the Pink Pony Club edition of Rocky Horror. The cast played some Chappell Roan music before and during the show, enhancing the queer experience.
Chappell Roan is changing the course of many queer lives with her music, especially with her song “Pink Pony Club.” “Pink Pony Club” talks about how there is a very unique bond between every queer person, and that we are a community who supports each other within anything that happens. Rocky Horror was a perfect place to have a “Pink Pony Club” theme because Rocky Horror also changed the course of queer history forever. “The Rocky Horror Picture Show” was one of the first movies to represent someone who was not a specific gender, and “Pink Pony Club” says that anyone can come together and we as the LGBTQ+ community will stand behind them because we are more than a community, we are family.
