In addition to its highly popular “Legalize Gay” T-shirt, American Apparel has released two more LGBT-sympathetic pieces.
These recently debuted T-shirts comprise half of the establishment’s Library Series — a group of four poly-cotton blend shirts that display newspaper photos from the 1980s.
The first shirt shows two men demonstrating together in the 1984 West Hollywood pride parade, while the second reveals protesters gathered before an Anaheim hotel circa 1989.
Following the passage of Proposition 8, American Apparel became a source of advocacy for the LGBT struggle. According to the company’s Web site, since a large portion of its workers and patrons identify as sexual minorities, it strives to vocalize support for the protection and equality of such groups.
