Anti-gay senator arrested after leaving gay bar

Police in Sacramento arrested a Southern California senator for driving under the influence Wednesday, according to local television stations CBS13.

Police in Sacramento arrested a Southern California senator for driving under the influence Wednesday, according to local television stations CBS13.

Senator Roy Ashburn, who is historically anti-gay, reportedly left gay club Faces with an unnamed male companion before being pulled over and charged with a DUI and a blood alcohol content level greater than .08 percent, according to the station.

Ashburn drove a state-issued vehicle at the time and was released on $1,400 bond.
