
A California law mandates the search for a cure for homosexuality, according to a column in the Los Angeles Times Sunday.
The 60-year-old Welfare and Institutions Code Section 8050 was instituted after the rape and murder of a 6-year-old girl in an attempt to curb child molestations. That the murderer was not gay made no difference, according to the article.
Assembly Bill 2199, being introduced today, would reverse the dated law.
