In anticipation of Adam Lambert’s debut album’s November 23 release, the “American Idol” runner-up’s record label has reportedly attempted to downplay his homosexuality.

Lambert never took strong measures to hide sexuality. He refused to quell rampant rumors during his “Idol” days, eventually coming out officially in a Rolling Stone interview earlier this year.
Many people believe Lambert’s success to be a landmark sign of progress toward tolerance in society. “It’s unfortunate, therefore, that [Lambert’s] record label and management don’t share the same view,” writes Aaron Hicklin, editor in chief of Out magazine.
