The head of an anti-immigration group is accusing Republican Sen. Lindsey Graham of folding against Democratic demands in an effort to keep his homosexuality a secret.
William Gheen of the Americans for Legal Immigration Political Action Committee told an audience in Graham’s home state of South Carolina that the Senator who has been a bachelor all of his life needs to come out of the closet.
“Look, I’m a tolerant person,” Gheen announced to the audience. “I don’t care about your private life, Lindsey, but as our U.S. senator, I need to try to figure out why you’re trying to sell out your own countrymen, and I need to make sure you being gay isn’t [the reason].”
Graham is the only member from the GOP working with Democrats to reform immigration law, according to EDGE Boston.
