The biggest greeting card company in India, Archies, will be releasing a line of gay and lesbian cards just in time for Valentines day.
For a country that just a few years ago criminalized gay sex, this is a bold move. However, with the recent court ruling that said the country will no longer consider being gay a crime, the company feels this is the perfect time to come out with their new line.
“We felt this was the right time to add these cards to those we already have for the occasion,” he said.
The greeting cards, aimed at gay men, lesbians, as well as one gender-neutral, are available in 500 stores throughout India.
