Lady Gaga showed her loyalty to the LGBT community as four gay and lesbian soldiers escorted her to the MTV Video Music Awards Sunday night.

EDGE Boston identified the soldiers as former U.S Air Force, Marine, and Army members who were either discharged because of their sexual orientation or resigned from the service in protest of “Don’t Ask Don’t Tell.” One of the four escorts that night was former U.S. Air Force Major Mike Almy, a Dayton, Ohio, native.

Also in protest of DADT, the eccentric pop star has recently dedicated her website to the cause, including links to the Legal Defense Network, which provides legal services to gay service members.
