Race and Glow at 4th Rainbow Run

Collect glow items Friday as you run, walk, or jog the 4th annual Rainbow Run 5k trail. All of the money raised from ticket prices is used for ’s + emergency fund, which helps students who are in financial crisis.

“It’s a super fun event, but it is also very impactful in supporting students who have been disowned from their families and individuals that are financially strapped,” says Ken Ditlevson, the LGBTQ+ center director. “We want to make sure people reach graduation … this is like Kent’s family wrapping its arms around a student that’s been disowned or that’s in this financial crisis.”

The Rainbow Run will begin and end in Risman Plaza, where a dance party and refreshments will be held at the end of the trail. Along the path, ten booths will be set up where volunteers will hand out the various glow items when you pass by.

This event is family and pet friendly. It begins at 7 p.m., so be sure to arrive early. The 5k will take about an hour if you walk. You can register online or at the run itself. It is $20 to participate.
