In an interview with GQ magazine, red-carpet actress Anne Hathaway revealed that her traditionally Catholic family left the Catholic Church after her older brother came out of the closet.

In an interview with GQ magazine, red-carpet actress Anne Hathaway revealed that her traditionally Catholic  family left the Catholic Church after her older brother came out of the closet.

As with many families throughout the country, the Hathaway’s left the Church that made them feel anything but welcome and supported. “The whole family converted to Episcopalianism after my elder brother came out,” she told GQ. “Why should I support an organization that has a limited view of my beloved brother?”

Hathaway’s brother married his long-time partner in New York city last year, accompanied by the entire supportive Hathaway family.
